Non-Degree Seeking Students: Students who do not wish to earn a degree from UMSL, but who would like to complete the certificate as a standalone program will need to complete the application for non-degree seeking students. Upon admission to the university, please complete our online form to declare your intention to complete the Health Communication Certificate program.

Degree Seeking Students: First time or transfer students seeking a degree from UMSL will need to complete the undergraduate application. Students transferring to UMSL with 24 or more transferable, college-level credit hours will need a cumulative college GPA of 2.3 or higher to be considered for admission. Upon admission to the university, please complete our online form to declare your intention to complete the Health Communication Certificate program. Current UMSL students may incorporate the required certificate courses into their program of study as well by contacting our academic advisor to declare your intention to complete the program.

 

Program Requirements (24 hours total)

To earn the certificate, students will need to complete a total of 24 credit hours with a grade of C or higher, including: 15 hours of core classes and 9 hours of specialized classes in either an interpersonal/organizational track or a mass-mediated track.
