Ryan W. Krull


Ryan W. Krull is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Communication and Media in the College of Arts and Sciences at UMSL. He earned his BA in Communication (2010) and an MFA in Creative Writing (2014) from UMSL. He teaches both Introduction to News Writing as well as Feature Writing. He also serves as faculty advisor to UMSL’s independent student newspaper, The Current

Before going to grad school Ryan worked as a freelance reporter and he currently writes creative nonfiction as well as freelance journalism. His writing has appeared in The Riverfront Times, The Brooklyn Rail, Columbia Journalism Review, The Atlantic Media's CityLab, The Rumpus, The Millions, Third Coast magazine and elsewhere. He is the Interviews Editor for Boulevard magazine.
